Flowers On The Seawall

the cycle goes in reverse
curses
trumpets play
mark the spaces
heroes and traces
of zeroes...

fragrance
on the sea wall
coats salted tongues
on the brim of fire extinguished
concentrated battlefields over in seconds

while the dragons sleep

way down inside the whispers
the trees are towering without reply
the earth is flesh and blood
with a heart
that fuses

there is nothing to say
the memories
and scars of wars
rains washed away
hearts can heal
but mountains of steel
remain unowned.

like a bullfighter stranded on a reef
the last aboard the boat in disbelief
sirens scream like gods and virgins
cry like plastered models
embracing urns
in Rome.

Time comes to show
we are nothing more
than that we know
the threat of edges
of time
of the sea
all we are
is carbon
left to
be.
